For basic skinmaking, you need only a bit of patience and a little artistic talent. The necessary tools are, at a minimum, ResEdit and an art program of some sort. For more complex skins, Constructor is recommended. For more in depth details on skin making, please visit Tim Ehlenbeck's online skinmakers guide at <http://tim.cwru.edu/skinmaking/index.html>. Questions can be asked in Jeremy Bailey's Skinmaking Forum at<http://www.interlog.com/~crispin/discus/>.

  5. Requirements for Skins

  7.                     There are a few simple requirements required by @soft for skins to be posted on our Add-ons page listed below.

  9. -Include all buttons needed for full functionality. For the Player window, this includes Previous, Stop, Play/Pause, Next, Random, Repeat One/All, Volume Up, Volume Down, and Equalizer. The Sleep Timer, Set Position, Reverse Timer, Playlist, and Minimize are not necessary, but are recommended. For the Playlist window, please include all four buttons, Load, Save, Clear, and Info, as well as the Name and Time buttons, to allow the user to sort the playlist.

  11. -Include all Tool Tips. Tool Tips are helpful for new users, and often a must for skins with complex graphics. The Tool Tips system can easily be turned off by users who dislike it, and those who do enjoy it will be thankful you included all Tips.

  13. -If you edit the Background color of the BLR window, please be sure to edit the indicator background color. If this is not done, the indicators will not match the BLR window, and look very out of place.

  15. -Be careful with the BLR window. The size found on the Default skin is the minimum size.

  17. -Please center the MACAST about box through the following method(not manually):
  18.                     ResEdit: Open DLOG resource ID #1000 and from the "DLOG" Menu choose Auto-position. From the Left menu choose "Center". From the right menu choose "Parent Window's screen"

  20.                     Resorcerer: Open DLOG resource ID #1000. Choose "Set Dialog InfoS" from the "Dialog" Menu or press (Command-I). Choose "Center on Parent's Screen" from the "Placement" Menu.

  22. -Finally, we ask that you include the MACAST logo on the Player window and the Playlist window.

  25.                         For those who made skins for our previous betas, it should be noted that Picture ID's are no longer important. Pictures need to simply be named appropriately.

  29.             All skins that meet the above requirements and that the author wishes to be distributed to the public can be posted on the MACAST website by emailing <submit@at-soft.net> with the following information:
